Sac & Story county IA
I would look for a WW2 age drill press or mill. Lots of cast iron is what makes a machine rigid. I got a MT4 drill press from ebay for $32 within driving distance. The drill press weighs almost a ton. A variable speed drive on it and I doubt I will ever want a better drill.
One of my playmates bid on a nice mill at ISU and got it. No help loading. I helped him go after it with a lowboy and forklift and he gave me his old one. The old one had several deficiencies but works fine now.
