I should add that I believe this customer may have been using a non JD mapping/display/autosteer system. Whatever brand it was, it worked very well. I am not exactly sure what system it was so I won't guess. I do know he had the 20/20 monitor and that was also impressive. This was not just a green customer. One thing on the 20/20 monitor I noticed - the strain gaged row unit wheels were helpful except on a 36 row planter there were only 3 rows or so that had them. If some of the other rows happened to be running in a combine tire track (=harder ground requiring more down pressure) these rows were leaving seed on top of the ground in places where the strain gaged rows showed they were doing fine. You really need to have more rows instrumented since the ground is not uniform across the width of a wide planter. On a splitter planter with one or more rows always planting into a tire track I would make sure those rows had strain gaged arms. jmho. Jim at Dawn
