You are getting a stable more consistant connection. We have done testing with the Intime base out to 28 miles from the base with very good acuracy. With radio we see accuracy dropping off after 2-3 miles from the base. I think a repeater would be needed for anything outside 5 miles. Up close they are probably equal but at greater distances it will out perform the radio.
