we fixed ours by pulling along side of truck load of grain... of course this was in the fall and the truck was already loaded before the auger was bent in half(that's another story). when you unbolt the splice the flighting will come with the tube unless you remove the bearing at the end. there is nothing physically ataching the flight to the drive stub coming from the gearbox it just slips over.
