converted all our older stuff to 134 by just going down to the local napa and buying the kit.   systems were empty anyway so just added the oil and 134. add a can every once in a while but they work good enough for most of our work.. We don't run these hard in the heat of summer though ,most are cleaned up and put away till fall work.Maybe for maximum output you need to do all the other things but for most work the kits will be ok.   Just hook the hose keep adding till sight glass is reasonably clear or the low presssure side is cold and the other is hot.
