I have converted some to R-134 with mixed results. Generally, it seems that the R-12 condensers do not have enough capacity to work with R-134 so you get high head pressure and poor cooling - especially w/o GOOD airflow through the condenser. I have also tried the FR-12 with pretty good success. However, the Freeze 12 seems to just dump into an R-12 system and work w/o any extra fussing around.
JD air conditioners-best way to fix r-12???
