Rawlins County Kansas | Yea a JD tech from local dealer and myself counted (and double counted) all of the sprockets at the hydraulic motors and at the center of the planter as well as double checked the settings in the planter configuration. Yesterday we put on a new silver wedge box on the planter to see if that would correct the problems. It did help some as before yesterday the relationship between command speed - motor speed and population were incorrect. Before the wedge box if I set the planter to run in manual mode and then plug in 5 mph the command speed and true motor speed would be identical but the planter would be putting on 2000-3000 extra seeds per acre away from target. The wedge box fixed that problem as now when the command speed and motor speed are identical the correct rate is being applied.
