I'm not sure how many pictures a digital picture frame can hold, but that may be a cheaper solution. If it's possible I would go with one where you can stick in a USB thumbdrive. This way it's easy to move pictures from computer to pictureframe. I haven't looked into this ,but they might even hold your memory stick of your camera.

Of course if you  go the DVD player route, you can always use it to watch movies aswell.
