I never asked what year that Cat was. The picture was taken in 1964. There was no blade for it but it had a retrofitted hydraulic pump in the rear. The valves were operated by the 2 horizontal levers to the right of the drivers seat. As I recall the name of the unit was Bee Gee or something like that. There was no turbo. The engine was started by a 2 cyl pony engine which was hand-cranked.
The sides of the ditches were run over early spring with a narrow disc hauled by a IHC TD9 to take out the weeds. After that came the Cat and ditcher to rebuild them.
