It's been my experience that if they are in a crabby mood they will write you a ticket for something, even if it means bending the law a little to support their case. I honestly believe that they think they are dealing with a bunch of idiots so they come in with the attitude that they are smarter than you so you better listen and believe everything they say. With that in mind I carry a small copy of the FMCSA rule book with me in case there is ever a dispute.
