Subject: RE: Anyone know what the law in IA is re: fences and trees??

Boone, Iowa
The Iowa law about the fences are that if you are standing towards the fence from your field, you are in charge of the right half of the fenceline. As far as trees, anything on my side I cut and anything on the other side that is growing on my side, we sight up from the fenceline and cut the branches. I have had some people on the other side of the fence that would not cut a tree to save themself. If it is someone I get along with, I will call and tell them we are cutting trees and see if they want to help cut the trees down on their side while we are there.
