High Springs, Florida
I figure it would take a $325,000 system to run my house. Living in FL, I have a 5 ton A/C unit on my house and that is the big energy hog, as well as an electric hot water tank. (a solar hot water system is about $3500) At the current price of electricity and my current usage, it would only take 104 years for me to break even. I get a real kick out of those eco tree hugger types that gleefully tout solar as FREE energy.
