Subject: Re: Wood vs. Steel Framed shop

Leesburg, Ohio
We have both, and have been happy with both for the most part, depends on the specs and quality of material. Recently built ones have all been wood framed because of steel prices going up so much. The worst one we have is an all steel building from 25 years ago...light gauge material in the framing and the tin...you can grab a wall purlin inside the building and shake the whole thing...rusting through in places. The sturdiest ones are the ones with trussed steel frames and wooden purlins and ends. They were built in the 60's with some heavy stuff, and still are in great shape. In either case you get what you pay for.
