No, you must plant the crop. However, final plant date/late plant dates don't apply either. If you intend to plant a crop, with GRIP, you better plant the crop. Odds are, if you are experiencing widespread planting delays, so are other producers and the county, and the prospects for good yields are also declining.

If a substantial portion of your ground is low lying, prone to flooding, etc, you may not be a good candidate for GRIP.
