N/E Iowa | My 2002 5.3 liter did it when it was cold, went right away when it warmed up, and then you wouldn't hear it anymore. If it was below 20 degrees it would have a slight ticking noise, G.M. said it was "normal" wear and a common problem that does hurt the engine at all.................... I told the dealership that I don't have more than 30,000 miles on this truck and didn't spend $20,000.00 to hear it tick when starting it up!! I ran it until it had 80,000 miles, and traded it for a gas drinking 6.0 liter, so far I haven't heard nothing like that on this one.......... Knock on wood | |
