Subject: Re: Chevy's 6.0 vortec gas engine

Martinsville, Ohio

Show me how to own a diesel or other gas cheaper than to operate a 6 liter gas for its size and capacity. I will share cost of ownership figures.

This one outdrives Ford or Dodge and own them both. You sink $50,000 in a new diesel pickup and show me the payback. $6000 buys a lot of ethanol and it was more like $10,000 in my deal.

Raise the corn, burn the fuel, don't complain is my truck motto. If you can't, choose something else.

If you live in a pickup truck I can see owning a diesel. I hope you burn soybean diesel.

This is not aimed at you greenpower but I broke 15 MPG a few times. Not sure what I did to get it.

I blame water in the fuel, gas or diesel a lot, don't think it does not "leak" in. Blend ethanol or soybean oil in mine please. I will pay the price difference.

Drive the pants off that truck and try to save or earn money every trip. To me that is what a truck is for, not as a passenger vehicle.
