Same here Plowboy. Just went through that with a Mack I put seals in for a friend. Book gave some Preload specs and final torque specs. Ran a couple loads of grain and felt the hubs and they were hot. I took the service truck to him and jacked it up and did it your way and now they run a lot cooler. Thats how I do all of mine so far. Never has failed me yet!
