go with a 5-6 hp Honda knockoff motor with belt drive. Runs out 180 acres on less than a gallon of gas I did that with mine after having pto for about 10 minutes. I ran hydraulic drive several years and have run the Honda for 3 I think. I switched the hydraulic shutoff on the chain to an electric actuator. Now I can pull it with a pickup that I don't care if it gets hammered a little. My latest mod this year was probably the best and that was to go to a 2 5/16" ball hitch to take the hammer out of spreader hitch and maintain good flexibility over terraces. I could post pictures soon.
