Would not even consider the Toyota for what you want. I have a '08 GMC 2500Hd with 6.o and 6 speed tranny. It is twice the truck of those Tundras. Good friend has a Tundra and is very disappointed in it. says he is getting 11mpg at the most, hooked up a trailer to pull a skid steer and the bumper was just about dragging. He beefed up the suspension, added 2 springs now it Might be able to tow what a normal 1/2 ton can. He said it is going down the road as soon as he can get rid of it.
If I were looking for a car or a small daily driver pickup with no hauling I would look at a Toyota Tacoma or a Camry for a car. Toyota does build a very good product but they have yet to build a real work truck.
