Oats always worked well for us after snap beans. Planted them in august, got nice growth, then a good frost will kill em dead. Ground is really nice to no till into after winter kill oats. Maybe even nicer than soy ground. One year we did have a really mild winter and they didn't die. Remember having a problem killing them, but corn still yielded. Don't grow snaps any more. Have planted them after potatoes, but sometimes it's too late to get good cover. We're in central PA. I think we used about 2bpa seeding rate?
