Subject: RE: Dry fertlizer in the row

SW Ohio
Use to use dry, 6 row 7000 with cross auger, first year used a five gallon bucket from wagon(Man I must have been younger then!!) put down anywhere from 150 to 400 #'s depending on soil test.Next year used a portable auger to go from 550 bushel dump truck to cross auger, next year mounted auger on planter that went towards rear between row 1 and 2, kept that system till I got a newer planter(15? years), started with double disc openers and went to Yettter dry single disc, still did not like soil surface in no-till. Converted to liquid and used 10-34-0 mostly. Switched planters and now use a gooseneck tank behind, put on all my N and sometimes mix 10-34 with it 5X2 with a little 10-34 down the Keetons, JD single disc liquid set just outside the depth wheels. Sorry no pics of the dry auger.
