I used to put on 230# of 8-32-16. The only reason I went to liquid is because I went to no till. I was never satisfied with the way the single blade dry knife chiseled up a big clod when no tilling. The row cleaner would then come along and throw alot of dry dirt away from the row. The knife worked fine in tilled soil. The old double disc opener also worked good in tilled ground. I suppose there is some new designs out there for no till now a days, but if you are conventional you will be happy with dry.
