This might be a dumb question but since you said 15" rows work, could you plant wheat with a Kinze planter with spliters on 15"? Can you get any kind of seed discs for wheat? I guess a drawback would be a lot of filling stops for seed. Everyone around here uses a drill. I dont grow wheat but thinking about some this fall. Thanks, Rick
Had a neighbor try this last fall and said the seed hoppers emptied at all different rates with some over half full when others were empty. He also tried splitting the middles to end up with 7.5 inch rows. It mostly looks like 10 inch rows and 15 inch rows double planted. I don't think he will try this again. Said something about renting or buying a 15 foot drill would have been better and faster. |
