Killam, Alberta, Canada | We use a Flexi-coil air drill on 10 inch spacing with a 4 inch splitter boot. The boot is a flexi-coil stealth boot. We have been direct seeding for the last 5 years,. Our fertilizer blend consists of 75-25-15-15 per acre with 1 lb of copper on wheat. The nitrogen is NH3. I have not seen any seedling damage from this blend.
If you get the air right, you will get two distinct rows, but after about 3 weeks, the rows close in. Very few weeds, I often wonder if I should be spraying the wheat, but never had the guts not to.
