Subject: Re: Drill spacing for wheat?

Killam, Alberta, Canada
We use a Flexi-coil air drill on 10 inch spacing with a 4 inch splitter boot. The boot is a flexi-coil stealth boot. We have been direct seeding for the last 5 years,. Our fertilizer blend consists of 75-25-15-15 per acre with 1 lb of copper on wheat. The nitrogen is NH3. I have not seen any seedling damage from this blend.
If you get the air right, you will get two distinct rows, but after about 3 weeks, the rows close in. Very few weeds, I often wonder if I should be spraying the wheat, but never had the guts not to.
First time posting on this website, we farm in the east central region of Alberta, Canada, and we tend to get hot and dry around July and August.
