Northern Illinois | Ron, I have an Airtec "high inlet temperature" refrigerated air dryer in my system, and it's probably the best thing that the dealer had to talk me into!
In the 4 years that I've had the shop, I've yet to get even a drop of water out of my line drains. This thing does a great job. It has its own "auto drain," just like I have on my compressor.
The disadvantage is that this unit runs continuosly, even if I'm not using any air. I have it tied into the power circuit to the compressor, but have to remember to shut it off, when not in use. I always thought about coming up with some type of "on demand" circuitry, but have never pursued that.
For as much air as you guys are going to use, I would suggest a good quality version.
