Subject: In-line air dryer for shop air

Chebanse, IL.....

Do the in-line air dryers for shop air need a way to vent/dump their captured water to the outside? This would have to be a dryer large enough to handle air flow in to relatively high vol air use tools like air sanders or 1" air impacts, etc. This is just farm shop stuff, not big commercial operation. Compressor isn't all that large, maybe 15-20 cfm? But, the compressor is in a remote unheated building & we want an air dryer (we think) inside a heated shop. Just not sure what happens to the captured water.

Edit:

OK...would one of these freon type air dryers like this one from Harbor Freight do the job? I have NO experience with them. Presently have no air dryer in main line in, just a little attached built-in dryer on the plasma cutter. Other than that, not a big problem. But, I do dump (1" outflow ball valve) the airline coming in to the building daily & before big uses. Here's link to HF air dryer:

Thanks
