Ripley, Ontario Canada | I have to agree with those that say to feed corn. Some questions though. What body score are these cows in? Can you see any hint of ribs. How much shelter do they have. How cold is it. Are they in the wind. How old are they. I would say you should feed 10-15 lbs of corn per day and you should likely grind or roll it. Since you now have 3 a 5 gallon pail per day is a good place to start, but I would not feed any less. If you have other cows that are close to calving and look a little thin, a few pounds of corn would not hurt them either. You should really talk to your feed dealer or someone that can balance a ration for you. You might be able to start with a dairy ration and just not feed as much. | |
