Subject: Re: Old Cow Milking

East Central, Nebraska
I've been feeding like i said 30 - 40#s of grasshay (mostly broam) and Alfalfa. The also have a range mineral, salt block, and 30% tub. When it warms up, which seems to be rarely ever, they go out and graze the corn stalks. There is alot of corn out there but i don't know if they don't want to go get it because of the temperature or they just can't get down too it. I know i am feeding mine better than alot of neighbors. I still think these old cows are starving these calves though. Like the one i had the other day. Everytime i go out there it is trying to suck. Its a big calf but it doesn't seem to ever get full.
