It's all about demand. Cow-calf guys are getting older. Only so much they can take before they look at other alternatives. Not long ago in late 90's good alfalfa was $125. a ton here, and the next year it was $40. and not moving. Just finished having a cup of coffee with a nutritionist, we both agree the next few years are going to be very interesting.
