Thanks Ted for the clarification. We use Outbacks for about all of our gps needs and when we used the Outback ground speed device we had to supply 12 volts to it to work. It is my understanding that if it is connected to a 4 pin connector without the pig tail in between it does not need external power but will be supplied with power like the DJ radar would have been. I didn't say that correctly in my last post. Was about a year ago when we went through it and memory is fuzzy.
