Finished yesterday on harvest. Had many breakdowns but none as scarey as this. The hired driver, I was told, looked like he was going to have a heart attack. The grain wagon was just pulled up to pit after truck was emptied when the wheel fell off. Lugnuts broke off, must have come loose. Barely missed unloading guy. He said they found lug nuts over by the scales, about 75-100 yards away. Lucky that they, just opened wagon and emptied, then pulled wagon to where I took picture with the grain truck. By the way, this was the last full load of harvest. Talk about a photo finish! Dad had a partial load after this load. I bought many new tires for my mid 70's grain trucks, but I made 2 round trips with a terrible flopping noise, I checked all tires, even gauged the duals. Two "loaded" trips later I found this on the inside of my old steer tires, 2 tires I did not change. How it did not blow Edit #2, talked to dad, maybe lugnuts fell off near scales, before pulling around to pit?
