Subject: How far to the elevator?

Mid Michigan
Just curious as to how far most of you people have to drive to take your crops to the elevator. We are very fortunate to have a first class operation that is only 6 miles from our place here and 7 miles from our other place. Very easy hauling for me. I can be there with a gravity box pulled at 35 ish mph behind a pickup in about 10 minutes. I did a drive over, unloaded and drove back to the field today in 30 minutes. Dad took a double wagon load today with the tractor and that only takes about 45 minutes. No lines yet as the big harvesting rush has not quite started around here yet. I feel we are extremely fortunate to have this nice place so close to us. Soys were selling for $8.41 a bushel today. Loads I took were anywhere from 12.4 % moisture yesterday to about 13.4 % today. This is in mid Michigan where the weather was a whopping 85 degrees today and about 90 yesterday.
