Subject: Just curious?

You guys (mudracer and Charlie) are using ortho-phosphate, potassium hydroxide,& potassium thiosulfate. Is there a particlular reason you like these sources? Those forms are typically used in the turf and ornamental market because of shelf-life and mixing (settling) properties. Is it a "salt" or chloride issue. Those sources are increadibly higher than say, ammonium poly-phosphate hot mixed with potassium chloride and chelated zinc. If you keep the "salts" below 10 in a pop-up you should be okay. The availabilty of ortho and poly phosphates are the same. I would think you would be better off using a cheaper source, but if it's working for you, why change?

Just curious.

Also Charlie, I calculate your plant food to be 31 N - 11 P - 18 K - 5 S. Is that really enough P & K for 175 bpa corn?

Edit: Here is a link to some pretty good data on starters http://ag.udel.edu/extension/agnr/pdf/starter_3yr_summary.pdf
