| Everything goes with the rows except maybe an occasional pass with the disk in the fall on cornstalks. Been doing this for about the last five years. Nicer ride when planting, spraying, or hoeing. In the fall less stubble damage to tires when ripping or applying anhydrous. No more wasted time working out the angle when you start a field of finish a field. No more marks going at an angle in the field all summer if you happened to work it a little too wet in the spring. If you have the right ripper and a well adjusted field cultivator you will have level fields. I forgot, I do cut alot of beans at an angle, you can start about an hour earlier and go an hour later and the whole sickle get used and it usually feeds better. I see no reason to bounce across rows of ripped ground. My fields are very level. | |
