| I will have more than a few of you who will think i'l making this up. We have 200 acres of ground that has received hog manure regularly for 20 years +. Not every acre every year maybe every other year at least. We have been in a corn-corn-corn-wheat/dc beans rotation for a few years now. On the corn we apply Anhydrous and 100# of 15-38-9 starter fertlizer. One 40 acre field has not yielded under 150 the last 7 or 8 times it was in corn. This is all dryland, no irrigation. The reason we plant the wheat is to haul some manure in the summer. Currently we are trying to expand our acreage and not apply any more manure on the home farm and put it on other fields. Hog Manure does smell like $$$ as we raise some very cheap corn. | |
