Kind of the opposite around here-Central, IL. Maybe the temp difference between us and you make the difference. Around here in a really dry year the no-till seems to do better because all that moisture wasn't worked out of the ground in the spring and gets held in by the residue. In the wetter more perfect weather years the conventional seems to have the edge. That is just my personal ovservations, of course I can find you 10 studies "proving" each approach is better. :)
