I have no doubt about what you're saying. On my farm two things are always yield killers, compaction and poor drainage. Last year we had to mud off our corn silage. What a mess we made. We never got an opportunity to do any tillage work last fall after harvest. This year we can tell which fields we chopped first, last year, by the way the corn looks this year. Things dried up a little as harvest progressed last year, consequently the first fields chopped were mistreated the worst. Like I said we can see the order they were chopped in last year by the way the corn looks this year.
