Missouri
Personally enjoy shopping for the right bull to move the herd in the desired direction. Difficult to due that with small numbers. Goals of each herd are different. From final product production,(meat) to breeding for replacement females. Modern/Advanced technology offer way more than I can do individually. By keeping the best females for replacements different story, but go outside herd for males. As for that steer place him in the hands of a 4-H/FFA kid and grow him out Herford class at most state fairs is stiff division. Some states offer premiums for top Herford in the carcass class. Fun to see what they look like as finished animals. Really good for the kids also.
