Subject: RE: Anyone here have a sand settling lane??

NW Iowa
I have ran my sand lane for 2 years and love it. mine is a .25% slope and that works just fine .5% would work just fine as well somwhere in between would be the best. All of our sand settles in the first 125 feet. the layout is 300 feet long with a 180 degree turn at 150 feet. It takes lots and lots of water no less than 1800 gallons/minute and 2000-2200 is better. Ours is flushed with a 8" Houle stem flush pump with twin 10 horse motors if you have 3 phase put more horse to it 30 to 35 would be better. It takes a two lagoon system to keep water clean enough to wash the sand. an engineer from southern minnesota did our work his name is Nic Rowe- he did a nice job with the whole project. Feel free to e-mail if you want to come see ours or have any more questions. [email protected]
