That seems like a crazy price for "here" but I don't have a clue where you are at. Some quick math says if it takes 10 acres to pasture a cow and calf for a 5 month grazing season at $40/acre it would cost $400 each to run 12 cow/calf pairs for the summer. Pasture rent around here runs usually runs by AUM @ $27-$35.
