You have to understand that each dog is different, with it's own personality. My dogs will always allow me to handle the goats and I don't have a LGD that I believe would harm a stranger that was in the pasture during the day. During the night might be another story.

I haven't had a problem introducing a new LGD to a pasture. I usually have had them with goats somewhere else and the other dogs smell the goats on them. They may fight some to find their place in the pecking order but that's about it.

Just remember, every dog is different and you have to know and anticipate how he might act. They are animals, so they can be unpredictable but you will have a pretty good idea of how he will act in certain situations after you get to know each one.
