south central IOWA | This year was probably the best that it has been in the past few years. Usually the hardest part for us is getting the cows in the lots by the buildings. It was harder for me this year to move the cows into the pasture closest to the buildings than it was to get them into the lots by the buildings. For Dad's herd we were drinking coffee for 45 minutes before Vet showed up just because the cows cooperated so well. Usually we're cussing them. Things just went well for us this year so that probably means it will be a nightmare next year. | |
