Subject: High headed Calves

We just completed this morning our preconditioning work on our calves, and it was quite the event this year. This was the first crop out of our 2011 bull but they were just way more crazy than ever in the past. Although we went from bunk feeding them daily to a self creep feeder, they are still walked through often enough that they are used to people being in the pen. Luckily we only damaged one gate and I am going to loose a fingernail, but we got through it.
The neighbor came over after we were done and said everyone that he has talked has complained about how wild their calves were this fall working them. Could it just be the year?
