Subject: RE: Moving cows north? 3/8ths ear cattle work fine in

SWMN
I could be wrong, most likely am wrong. But my Grandpa told me once that cattle grow hair by the hours of daylight. I am dairy guy and 100% holsteins but I kind of beleive it because are cows are in the frestall barn with 16hours of light everyday not matter what. When they get dried off we move them outside and have no problems maybe its the breed and they do still get pretty good shelter. but in the middle of January with the windchill -30 they grow a lot of hair very fast. Let me know if old grandpa was blowing smoke up my butt or if he is that smart.
