been full time farming-pork for 35+ years-contract feeding is good for contractor or a guy with late model barn in good shape paid for. We have one of the best pork guys in Ontario feeding some for us and it works good (hope he can say the same). He has too deal with shorts,isolating sick pigs,tail biters,deads (a 4800 head barn x 3% death loss is 144 or 3 a week),washing,shipping and if you don't do a good job contractor will get someone else too build a new barn. Its a 10 yr. payback in ontario with barn owner taking no wages for that period...not trying to discourage you but its not like cash cropping at all. if you want any info from here e-mail me
