| I would say do it. If you can get it close to breakeven and have a use for the manure. We are raising more bushels needing more nutrient replacement and I don't see fertilizer prices coming down anytime soon.
Just make sure you have cup waters, make sure the dirt slopes enough away from the building (around here guys are even tiling around their buildings and putting on rain gutters). Those custom hauling guys get too much to let them haul water around.
Around here they are paying 12 - 14000 a year to take care of them and let the pig owner deal with the help.
Everyone I have talked to that has put them up has been happy with them (Great Way to build equitity). | |
