central - east central Minnesota - | Treatedseed - 4/4/2011 10:47 The system was new 5yrs ago. It was checked this year and in great condition. The current owner just didnt like the extra water going through the system. So its capable of handling it. Perhaps my best solution would be to tie it into the septic? Yes, run it into the septic . . . . . the cleaning products are not any worse (and maybe better) then the cleaning supplies use to clean / disinfect a toilet or shower/bath tub . . . . . Bleach is what can impeed the bacteria of a septic tank to do it's job . .. recommended cleaning of the tank every 2 years keeps things in check also . . . . Heck, my wife does a load of laundry every day and she uses lots and lots of disinfectant (bleach) products, and our system continues to work good. A water softener dumping it rinseing into a septic system can cause the leach system to form a crust like over the field - stoping water inflitation/evaporation . . . . that's not good! Waste water from a washer could be used to irrigate the lawn also . . . . .
