We've got snow, mud and ice . To much ice to bother getting my horse out . To much mud for the four wheeler. Had driving rain all yesterday ,turned to blowing snow all night into this morning . Spent the first couple of hours warming calves then trying to get the newborns mothered up . Still have calves without mothers and mothers without calves . Weathers been so bad you hate to disturb the herd once they get bedded . We've gone through better than 50 ton of straw . Put down and it either soaks up water and gets wet or gets snowed on .

Most outfitts I know using horses ,most guys are riding a couple horses . So they saddle up one for a couple hours do a check or two ,then change horses . One of the best ways to get a young horse broke .
