What concern is there for compaction on your soil at this time of year? When I had grazed corn I had to move the cattle to the sacrifice area... I had a 5 acre piece that I left them on (to see the effect)and the compaction was a big factor later when I seeded the next crop. I did a corn on corn rotation in the field. Cattle and wet clay are not a good combination.
