West Central Wisconsin | A while ago I realized my home town, Sparta WI, has a diverse offering of business and historical importance. I snapped a few pictures of some of these and would like to know what your city is home to. Here is a list of some that come to mind.
1. Home of astronaut Deke Slayton.
2. Trailhead to Sparta/Elroy bike trail.
3. Military Reservation Fort McCoy, (US Army).
4. Mathews Inc. (leading archery maker)
5. Sparta Brush, now Carlisle, (major dairy and ag brush producer)
6. FAST Corp., (maker of those large fiberglass steers at your favorite steakhouse).
7. Rustepruff Laboratories, (makes gun wipes).
8. Home to two famous semi tractors also. A hardware store owner has restored and uses one each of the original Sonny Pruit Kenworth from "Movin On" and the BJ McKay Kenworth from BJ and the Bear. http://www.tvtruckin.com/id6.html
